Farewell Liz Dodd

Today is a sad for the Newcastle Ultimate community as we farewell one of our members, Liz Dodd. Liz moved to Newcastle from the central coast for university and leaves us further her career. After arriving in Newcastle Liz soon became an essential part of not only the university frisbee scene, but also the wider frisbee scene.

A list of what Liz has achieved in ultimate frisbee in the last 4 years includes but is not limited to:

  • Was on the NUDiscs executive committee
  • Represented NUDiscs at Eastern and Australian university games
  • Organised and ran active after schools program coaching sessions for primary school aged children
  • Represented the Australian u/19 womens team
  • Represented Newcastle with Pie Wagon the the World Ultimate Club Championships in Prague
  • Was a core member of the Sugar Magnolias team, winning bronze at nationals in 2009

But what will be missed the most is Liz's effervescent personality and the positive attitude Liz carried both on the frisbee field (Liz was a repeated winner of the most spirit player award in Newcastle) and in life generally.

Liz we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Our loss is Temora's gain.
